Reading feels different with a
friend by your side.

PAWS for Reading gives children a relaxed, judgment-free place to practice reading aloud with a trained therapy dog. These gentle listeners help young readers slow down, build confidence and discover that reading can be joyful.

Forever in our hearts.

Our hearts were broken by the passing of Radar, the dog who helped make PAWS for Reading possible. When the idea for the program began seven years ago, Radar was ready. With patience, warmth and a listening ear, he helped so many children become stronger, more confident readers. His legacy will live on in every story shared and every child he encouraged.
